Han Lei: Peak Flown From Afar

It may be fortunate for a person to create or collect photographs as evidence of logic or language throughout his whole life. The images tell the stories of the person on their own. Therefore, I have always felt inconvenient or even embarrassed to supplement the photographs with text. Images are everywhere, but they are never illusory.

Our understanding of the world is formed by a countless number of images that are constantly fed to our minds by history, knowledge and experience, a complicated restraining force within our daily lives. As human beings who live in the common world, as opposed to in an enclosed spaceship, it is conceivable that the images surrounding us would never provide a logical conclusion. They appear to be real but perhaps are only assumed so such that its true reliability can be established.
